Barbara's Bed and Breakfast, Windsor

Barbara's is a family run, small B&B, where high standards are the norm. We cook fresh food, we provide comfortable beds
(bought in places like Harrods) and we provide quality bedding (also from places like Selfridges and Harrods). If you look in
our visitors book closely there is a complaint (the boiler broke down in the night and Thames Valley plumbers don't come out
after 6pm) but all the hundred of other entries are complimentary, whether they be from visitors from Britain or from far away.

We are liked by Americans because water comes out of the shower under pressure, not the normal English dribble, we are
liked by the Japanese because the house is photogenic inside and out, we are liked by the Australians and New Zealanders
because we know the way to the hire car return and we can dispose of the many plastic bags they accumulate during their
extended stay, but mostly we are liked because we are friendly and welcoming.

Booking

Please use the 'Contact Us' page or phone or email us directly. We don't ask for a deposit, just ask that if you change your
mind you let us know. It is useful to know your expected arrival time as, being a 'one lady band' Barbara has to get to the
shops and to see the grandchildren (and to the gym, the swimming pool and to talk to her friends Penny and Margaret).

We are happy to talk about longer stays if you are moving into the area or working nearby but we don't have cooking facilities
nor can we provide evening meals (however, there are four pubs within 300 yards, all of which serve reasonable priced food).

Our Other Accommodation - an Apartment in a Ski Resort

After you have stayed in Windsor, enjoyed the Castle, the River, the Great Park and a trip up to Town you may be ready to
plan your winter break (or even another summer one!). We have a ski apartment in France that is very popular with the
family but has a good number of free weeks throughout the year. It is located on the edge of the world's largest ski resort, the
"Trois Vallees" in France and is surrounded by beautiful mountains to walk and mountain bike in. If you have a car, Orelle can
also be used as a base to visit many other ski resorts - we have been to Valmeinier, Valloire, St Francois Longchamp and
Valmorel, Val Norma, Les Sybelles, Les Karellis, Val Cenis and Val Frejus and the longest trip was 45 minutes when we were
stuck behind a bus.

Use this link to find the details of the operating company and all the facilities:

If you look at the tariffs page remember that they are Cela's prices, not ours. Send us an email with details of the week you
would like and we will let you have a very competitive quotation.

The apartment can sleep 6, made up of a double room, two bunks and a double bed settee. It is available from Saturday to
Saturday, it is great for those that want to drive all the way (less than 8 hours driving time from Calais and no long snowy
road up when you are really tired) but you can fly to Lyon, Chambery and Grenoble, all of which have a door to door bus link.
There are TGV trains to the local stations (Modane and St Michel Valloire), both of which are a short taxi ride away. Finally, if
you want to hire a car you can add Geneva Airport as well (like Lyon it is less than 2 hours away)
